Restore only inside trusted software
Recovery words are equivalent to wallet control. A website, chat agent, email form, browser extension, or sync page should not receive them.
If you need to restore, start from a clean device, install from a verified source, and use the in-app restore flow. Do not screen-share the recovery process.
Checklist
Before restoring
- Check that your device OS is updated.
- Install the wallet from a verified source.
- Disconnect from active remote support sessions.
- Prepare a private physical space before viewing recovery words.
- After restore, make a new offline backup if the old one may have been exposed.
After Restore
Confirm before transacting
Let the wallet finish syncing. Confirm addresses and balances calmly before sending funds.
For larger transfers, consider a small test transaction first and verify the destination address character by character.
